Here's a simple, step-by-step guide to help you do that.

For example:

Without local SEO, your business might not show up at all. Not even if you’re nearby as Google doesn't find your site relevant to show for users.

How to create location pages (if you serve more than one area) 

If your business operates in more than one city or neighbourhood, you should create a separate page for each location. This gives each area a better chance of ranking in search results. 

Each location page should include:

  • The correct address, phone number, and hours 
  • A map or directions (optional but helpful) 
  • Reviews or testimonials from local customers 

Avoid copying and pasting the same text across pages. Even small changes help. You can mention nearby landmarks, neighbourhoods, or the types of customers you serve in that area. 

How to improve your local listings and citations 

Your website is one piece of local SEO. Your online listings are another. Google uses business listings from across the web to confirm your location, name, and contact info. If that information is wrong or inconsistent, your rankings can suffer. 

Start with your: 

  • Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) 
  • Yelp 
  • Bing Places 
  • Apple Maps

Make sure your name, address, and phone number are exactly the same on every platform. Even the formatting matters. If you use "Street" in one place, don’t use "St." in another.
